Hello all…just wanted to leave a quick update. Wendy has been having PT/OT/ST yesterday and today. Speech Therapy didnt actually come until today to evaluate Wendy. Matt said from what they saw, the one thing they think is that her speech should come back and that there is no irreversible damage as far as her speech is concerned, rather it is due to the vent being in for so long. PT and OT have worked on several things already to get her out of bed and up into a standing seat. This will allow her sit and then it can be adjusted into a standing position while being strapped in. Matt said he can already see some progress with her head control. He said they gave her a shower today, which is the first one she has had since this all happened. He said she really seemed to enjoy it when they laid her head back and washed her hair!! He said she did have some progress with speech therapy, but she does have some confusion with certain things. One thing for certain when she does say something is that she wants to go home!!! Matt said she has been trying to pull a fast one on him after he has been gone for lunch or dinner. He says that when he comes back she tells him that the doctors or nurses have been in and said “I can go home, so take me home!” We found this quite humorous. She has already had several visitors. We made it up last night, along with Jess’ parents, on the Harley’s…we got caught in one heck of a storm on the way home!! A couple other visitors were Pastor Darren, and our new Associate Pastor Aaron Thomas. Matt told us one of the things that the the therapists told the pastors was asking them to ignore certain things in the future during rehab as far as her speech. They say that the first clear words that typically come our are curse words because of the frustration and hard work!! Needless to say, this is going to be an interesting experience. Wendy will also get some visitors tomorrow as well. These visitors dont know this yet, but Kylee informed us “Im staying with Uncle Bryan and Jessica!” Taryn ended up going back home with Mom. I will surprise them by taking them to see Mommy tomorrow afternoon for the first time at HealthSouth. We have to be careful, though, because Taryn said that since Mommy is getting to wear normal cloths, then they can take her home now. this could mean that Wendy will be teaming up with Taryn to try and convince us to taker her home!!! Well, I will end for tonight. May you all have a blessed evening and continue praying please.

Bryan if you are going to document who has been down to see Wendy I suggest you note all members of the family to include Wendy's side of the family as well. Keep in mind this blog is being archived for Wendy to read later. The blog will be miss leading to Wendy.
I appreceate the work you put into this blog but I am also concerned that it is accurate when Wendy reads it.
I realize that this was probably just an oversight on your part, but I apreciate your support to include all members who have been their for Wendy.

You make it sound like girls only want to be with you.. I've seen them with their cousins and aunt. They seem very happy.. I know it has been very stressful for Wendy's family who loves her very much as well as you all. Praise God for her recovery..

Awesome news!!! I am sure Taryn will team up with Wendy to try to get her Mommy home asap and that may make Wendy work that much harder. I'll be praying for strength as I am sure all of that therapy zaps it right out of her...but she has been a fighter all of her life and she isn't about to quit now!!!!!
A note on Debbie's comment...might I suggest getting a notebook and everybody who has been down since this ordeal began put their name and address in it. I know Wendy and she will want to thank everybody who has been there, or even called, and we wouldn't want ANYBODY overlooked!!
Love you guys and thanks for the wonderful updates. Keep up the great work!!!!

My goodness,as an "outsider," I want to say just how amazing this whole blogspot is, and how much work it is taking to keep all of us who are friends updated. I am so thankful for the information we do have. Satan would rob us of our agreement, so that we cannot agree together as touching Wendy, Matt and the precious children. Let us keep our focus on loving and agreeing, to the glory of God.
I am so excited our MOPS night out will be with Wendy tomorrow night.
Blessings, prayers to all who are sharing the burdens, and let me add how amazing her family and church are. Now there is a testimony!

I want to say that we need to keep focused on what is important here, that we must keep the unity and our prayers for Wendy's healing. We can't get distracted by things that are meaningful, but can be viewed by someone reading from the outside that their is in fighting among family members. Let us remember there is a dear woman fighting to get back her life and we should love her enough to pray and focus on her, not be petty and rebuke someone anoymously. If you have a problem the word of God says to go to your brother privately and speak with him/her. AS an outsider at one point I was so excited to see the updates and heartfelt responses but I was in shock to see the recent insenitivity toward the gentlemen who takes time out of his day to update us all. Remember stay focused on what is important and know your family member doesn't need prove that you cared or was there, she will already know that. Lets post things this lady can read that will edify her later on.
